Grant Description

Historically, the people of Iraqs southern marshes have depended on the sale of their hand-crafted household textiles and other objects to sustain their livelihoods.

This project, which includes training for low-income families, women, and widows in traditional crafts, directly supports the U.S. embassys efforts to help Iraq build a prosperous and diversified economy pursuant to the 2008 U.S.-Iraq Strategic Framework Agreement.
