Grant Description

The Lumbini Museum's collection of ancient and historic Buddhist objects is of exceptional cultural and historical value.

The project aims to conserve and restore these objects while building capacity among local conservators and students, thereby setting standards for future conservation efforts in Nepal.

Activities include preliminary assessments, establishment of a site lab, detailed conservation and restoration treatments, documentation, inventory creation, and extensive community engagement through exhibitions, memory collection sessions, and media campaigns.
