Grant Description

This project will make a major contribution toward the preservation of the Garifuna culture (Amerindian language spoken by 90,000 people).

Mathematics and Spanish textbooks written in Garifuna will be illustrated, published and distributed and 120 teachers will be trained and assigned to elementary schools in Garifuna communities.
