Funds were used to preserve, catalog, and display ceramics and petroglyphs and record the oral traditions of the Black Carib elders. Black Carib people have inhabited St. Vincent since approximately 1300 AD.

Black Carib history is threatened as the younger members of the community have assimilated and intermarried with African-Vincentians.
