Grant Description

The Tajik oral history archives encompass the traditions and culture of every region of Tajikistan as well as Tajik-speaking areas of Uzbekistan, and represent a huge wealth of untapped historical, anthropological, and social knowledge. This project transfers the archive onto new archival-quality tapes, thus making the archive accessible to scholars.
