To enable the library to once again open its doors to the public. The Guinean National Library, once one of the best libraries in West Africa, is in disorder and disrepair. Lack of environmental control is leading to the rapid deterioration of the library's books and manuscripts.
Activities include restoration of the collection, installation of lighting and air conditioning, computerizing catalogs, and establishing a reading room.
