Grant Description

To support the preservation of a collection of photographs from the 19th century compiled by Pedro II, Emporer of Brazil over the course of 50-years.

The collection was donated to the National Library in 1892 and has been recognized by UNESCOs Memory of the World International Register. It includes images taken by the Emperor on his travels around the country and abroad.
