Funds are requested for the establishment of the Lontar Digital Library for the purpose of preserving and providing public access to materials on Indonesia's intellectual heritage.

The collection represents the worlds largest compilation of original research materials on Indonesian literature and culture dating from the 18th century. Creation of this library will allow for world-wide public access to a unique collection of materials.
