Grant Description

This project will provide initial treatment, storage facilities and preservation materials for the collection of over 1,000 Algerian manuscripts (11th to 18th centuries).

Funds will train a staff member in manuscript preservation, establish a facility for making digital copies of manuscripts, and produce a bibliography of the collection published in book form for distribution to other major manuscript collections around the world.
