Grant Description

To support the organization and conservation of a key collection of 1500 medieval Islamic manuscripts, part of a large body of work surviving from Timbuktu's Golden Age as a center of Islamic learning. The project will also renovate a historic building in the Old Quarter of Timbuktu to properly exhibit manuscripts.
