Grant Description

On July 17, 2017, the Government of China granted the World Health Organization USD$2,000,000 to provide medicinal assistance to the Yemeni population afflicted with cholera. The funds will also support the development of a local disease control system.

This assistance represents a part of the 2017 Yemen Humanitarian Assistance Response Plan (UNOCHA project code YEM-17/H/112753/R/122), which requested USD$2.34bn from member states but raised USD$1.76m. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) reported that China's contribution has been paid.

This project is captured by UNOCHA flow #161604. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
