Grant Description

In 2005, the Government of China donated $135,347 to the World Health Organization for Indonesia to assess the damage to the health system in areas affected by the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami.

The project aimed to "assess the extent of damage to the overall health system in the disaster-affected area through rapid assessments of the conditions of infrastructure, essential equipment, human resources needs, and other essential system components such as the disease surveillance system, the drug supplies, and distribution systems and health systems management." Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
