Grant Description

In late August 2006 after unusually heavy monsoon rains, Nepal experienced the worse floods and landslides in 40-years.

On 4 September 2006, the Chinese government responded with a 750,000 NPR (about $10,000 USD) to the Red Cross Society of Nepal for disaster relief. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
