Grant Description

On 21 May 2003, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit Boumerdès Province in Algeria.

In response, on May 25, 2003, the Chinese government sent a 30-member International Rescue Team to Algeria to help with search and rescue efforts. The value of this project is unknown. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
