Grant Description

On June 3, 2010, the Chinese government signed the letter of exchange that will fund a feasibility study on Muse-Lashio Rail Road and prefeasibility study on Lashio-Mandalay-Kyaukyu Rail Road.

The funding will come from a grant of 80 million RMB provided under an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement signed between China and Myanmar on December 20, 2009. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
