China government grants RMB 700,000 for the feasibility study of Digital Terrestrial Multimedia Broadcasting (Linked to Record ID#53726)

On April 20, 2015, China government signed a Letter of Exchange with Pakistan government for the feasibility study of Digital Terrestrial Multimedia Broadcasting (DTMB) project. Under the agreement, the Chinese government provided an RMB 700,000 grant for the feasibility study.

The DTMB project involves a revamped Pakistani communications network including cross border fiber-optic cable and adoption of Chinese digital communications standards. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
