Grant Description
On December 1, 2010, the Chinese Government donated 161 buses to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. The value of the donated buses is unknown.
The buses were intended to alleviate a shortage of vehicles in Osh and Bishkek, increase the economic development of Kyrgyzstan, and improve transit for the Kyrgyz people.
The most of the buses were intended to be used by the Bishkek city government, while a few others would be sent to the city of Osh. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
