Grant Description

China Eximbank pledges to finance Phase 2 of Mamamah International Airport Project In October 2011, China Eximbank reportedly pledged to fund the Mamamah International Airport Construction Project. This project would have involved the construction of Mamamah International Airport in the capital city of Freetown.

Then, on December 13, 2012, the Government of Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Transport and Aviation awarded a commercial contract to China Railway International Limited for the project. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
