Chinese government provides technical assistance and fireworks for Jamaica's 55th anniversary of independence celebration

On 8 August 2017, the Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica, Niu Qingbao, and Jamaican Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports, Janice Lindsay, signed the technical handover document for the firework project.

The Chinese government provided technical assistance, including materials and technicians, for two fireworks shows celebrating Jamaica’s 55 anniversary of Independence. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
