Grant Description

In July 2018, Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica, Tian Qi, and Jamaican Minister of Health, Dr. Christopher Tufton, agreed to the Bright Journey Eye Care Mission (also known as the Bright Journey Project).

According to the Jamaican Ministry of Health & Wellness, the Bright Journey team trained Jamaican health care professionals on new technology at the Kingston Public Hospital so the services provided by the Chinese team could continue. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
