Grant Description

In July 2018, Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica, Tian Qi, and Jamaican Minister of Health, Dr. Christopher Tufton, agreed to the Bright Journey Eye Care Mission (also known as the Bright Journey Project).

According to the Jamaican Ministry of Health & Wellness, the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) received 2,825,236.18 RMB worth of medical equipment and supplies as part of the project. On 5 April 2019, Jamaican Minister of Health, Dr.

Christopher Tufton, and Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica, Tian Qi, signed a donation contract during the official launch ceremony that was held at the Kingston Public Hospital. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
