Chinese Government provides loan for 60MW Uruguay Bioelectric Plant Project In 2016, the Chinese Government provided a Preferential Buyer's Credit (PBC) loan to the Cuban Government for the construction of a new bioelectric plant with a capacity of 60MW.
The plant is to be implemented in the Uruguay sugar mill located in the in Sancti Spíritus province and the Jatibonico municipality.
Similarly to other Cuban bioelectric plants, this project is to be managed by the Cuban bioelectric umbrella group AZCUBA. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
