Chinese Government provides 10 scholarships worth $1.25 million USD to students in Antigua and Barbuda

On August 3, 2006, the Chinese government announced that it will provide $1.25 million USD in scholarships to 10 Antiguan and Barbudan students to study in China. The students can choose both their major and institution to complete two to seven years of study. This is the first batch of scholarships offered by China since the two countries established diplomatic relations.

Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
