Grant Description

Based on the news release from mmgpmedia and Business & Human Right Resources Center, on September 10, 2015, China International Trust and Investment Co., Ltd (CITIC Group) and the Rakhine State Government held a handover ceremony for reconstruction materials in the disaster area in Sittwe, the provincial capital of Rakhine State.

CITIC donates 100 tractors, 100 pumps, 600 rainproof cloths, and 240,000 student exercise books worth US$300,000 to the Rakhine State government for post-disaster reconstruction. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
