China Xinjiang Bingtuan Construction constructs CATETE farm in Angola

In May 2008, China Xinjiang Bingtuan Construction & Engineering (Group) Co. Ltd., also called Beixin Construction & Engineering (Group) Co. Ltd., constructed the CATETE farm near the Kilamba Kiaxi housing project in Angola.

Xinjiang Beixin was contracted by CITIC Construction, who was implementing the Kilamba Kiaxi housing project at the same time (see Record ID#47101).

The farm was originally intended to feed the workers building the Kilamba Kiaxi housing project, but later adjusted to cater to the local market. According to Xinjiang Bingtuan, the total cost of the farm was 30 million RMB. It is unclear if the cost was borne by the financier to the Kilamba Kiaxi Housing project.

As such no transaction amount has been recorded for the project. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
