In January 2007, the 2nd batch of China's peacekeeping forces as part of the UN Interim Forces In Lebanon (UNIFIL) was sent to Lebanon.
It consisted of 335 Chinese troops. 170 of them returned to China on September 4, 2007, and the remaining 165 returned on September 14, 2007. The force was comprised of companies for landmine clearing, engineering, logistics, and medicine. The engineering battalion conducted its first rotation from January 23, 2007, to February 3, 2007.
According to the Chinese government, the peacekeepers treated over 2,100 patients and removed over 1,100 unexploded ordinances and mines.
