Grant Description
On March 14, 2012, Education Minister Zarko Obradovic and Chinese ambassador Zhang Wanxue signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the introduction of Chinese language into 32 Serbian primary and secondary schools.
The pilot project would last until the end of the year, and, if proven successful, there would be a possibility of introducing the Chinese language as an optional school subject. The pilot project was extended to 2013, but it is unclear if it was extended further. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.
Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
