Grant Description
In 2011, Chinese Government provided a USD $5.3 million grant for the Establishment and Operation of the Indonesia Maritime Surveillance Satellite System.
The purpose of the project is to improve the security in Indonesian waters to prevent and address illegal business, acquire data about possible natural distress, and to help Indonesian fishermen in funding to harvest in Indonesian waters. Its duration is 3-years. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.
Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
