In 2011, the Chinese government provided a grant of USD $1.9 million dollars for the Replacement of Aids to Navigation Damaged by Tsunami Incident.
The purpose of the project is to replace navigational markers on the coast of Sumatera islands in the straits of Malacca and Singapore that were damaged by a tsunami incident, to ensure continued safety of navigation vessels. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.
Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
