Grant Description

On January 23, 2007, the Chinese government granted $2.5 million USD to Bolivia for execution of two major rural electrification projects in Nor Chichas province within the Potosi Department.

On April 5, 2007, China Railway 17th Bureau Group was contracted to implement the projects, which consist of an extension of 15 kilometers of three-phase 24.9 kV power lines from the Toropalka-Takiniha power line and 33.32 km single-phase 14.4 kV line for the Wittur Qi rural electrification project.

Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
