Grant Description

On November 15, 2017, the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of China and the Philippines signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Donation of Eastern Starfish (also known as "Plectropomus leopardus" or "leopard coral groupers") fry.

According to the MoU, China's Ministry of Agriculture will provide 100,000 high-quality eastern star spot fry to aquaculture farmers in the Palawan and Davao regions of the Philippines for free every year from 2017 to 2019. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
