China Ministry of Public Security grants RMB 2 million worth of equipment to Fiji Police

On September 10, 2015, the Chinese Government exchanged letters with Fiji about the aid of police equipment in 2015. According to the agreement, the Chinese government will provide a grant of RMB 2 million to the Fiji Police Force.

The agreement was reached between Acting Minister for Immigration, National Security, and Defence Jioji Konrote and China’s Vice-Minister for Public Security Deng Weipeng. The grant would include motorcycles and a digital monitoring system to assist in police operations and investigations. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
