China donates materials for the ASEAN Summit to Laos

On April 8, 2016, China donated materials for the ASEAN Summit (or 援助老挝东盟峰会物资) at the Laos National Convention Center.

Chinese Ambassador to Laos Guan Huabing and Laos Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kam Pao attended the ceremony and signed the transfer certificates on behalf of China and Laos.

According to the agreement reached between the Chinese and Lao governments, the Chinese government has agreed to assist Laos in organizing vehicles, security inspections and office supplies needed for the ASEAN Summit, as well as providing technical training on equipment installation and use. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
