Chinese Government provides RMB 78 million grant for National Convention Center Banquet Hall Project

On August 11, 2017, China and Laos signed the EPC contract for the China-assisted National Conference Center banquet hall project (老挝国家会议中心宴会厅项目). The investment into the project is about 78 million RMB. ("中国将援建老挝国家会议中心宴会厅").

On May 11, 2018, the two sides signed the supplementary EPC for the project that it will be designed by China Zhongyuan International Engineering Co., Ltd. and constructed by Yanjian Group Co., Ltd.("高燕副部长见证签署援老挝两项目实施协议"). The project was scheduled to begin on August 26, 2018, and to be completed on October 25, 2019.

Though the exact start date for construction is unclear, construction was in progress as of November 9, 2018.

And the project was completed and handed over in February 2020 ("严防海外疫情，持续推进援外项目建设——会员单位中国中元援外项目防疫、生产两不误").

The building area of the banquet hall is about 3450 m2 with a contract price of RMB 68,630,000.00 Yuan ("Yanjian wins the bid of the Banquet Hall Project of Lao National Conference Center"). Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
