Grant Description

In 2014, during the visit of Laotian President Choummaly to China, the Chinese government pledged RMB 1 billion in grant aid through an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) for unspecified purposes ("Governing aid from China through embedded informality: Institutional response to Chinese development aid in Laos", pdf p.8).

Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
