Grant Description

On 27 March 2017, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Micronesian President Christian discussed bilateral cooperation and presumably signed an unspecified agreement in which China pledged to carry out a training course on coconut pest control technologies (or 椰子病虫害防治技术培训班) in Micronesia.

The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs organized and likely sponsored the group of Chinese experts to travel to Micronesia. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
