Grant Description

On December 14, 2005, the Chinese government and the Cook Islands government signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) for an RMB 20 million grant— for unspecified purposes in Wellington.

Zhang Yuanyuan, Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand, and Robert Winton, College of the Cook Islands in New Zealand, signed on behalf of the two governments.. The exact purpose of the ETCA was unspecified. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
