Grant Description

In October 2017, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) granted $5 million USD to UNDP for emergency relief to countries affected by Hurricanes Maria and Irma.

China has continued to fund a number of relief efforts through its South-South Cooperation initiative (SSC). Emergency support provided by Chinese and UNDP exports has been successful in helping the Caribbean rebuild.

The project completed at the end of June, 2018. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
