China grants 4 commuter waiting booths to Sierra Leone

On December 4, 2013, the Sierra Leone China Friendship Society submitted a proposal to the Chinese Embassy Sierra Leone for the construction of commuter waiting booths in in Freetown Municipality and West Rural District, out of the concern about the the level of inconveniences encountered by commuters, including school going children and other vulnerable groups such as the physically challenged, according to the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone.

This request was preceded by the signing of a Project Implementation Agreement (PIA) by Alfred Bobson Sesay, Chairman of the Sierra Leone China Friendship Society and Fan Xiaodong, the Political Counsellor of the Chinese embassy on March 3, 2014. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
