China donates sports training and competition equipment for Pacific Mini Games (Linked to Record ID#49224, #62857, #62858)

On December 9, 2016, letters of exchange for the donation of sports equipment for the 2017 Pacific Mini Games were originally signed (or 援瓦2017年太平洋小型运动会体育比赛器材).

On September 13, 2017, a handover ceremony was held between the Chinese Ambassador, Liu Quan, and the Vanuatu Prime Minister, Charlot Salwai, and was also attended by the Minister of Wah Chong, Chairman of the Vaio Committee, CEO of the Pacific Small Games Organizing Committee and Chen Yuhua, head of the Economic and Trade Office of the Embassy.

The ceremony was for the donation of eight 40-ft containers of sports training and competition equipment to be used for the upcoming Pacific Mini Games (PMG). Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
