Chinese Government provides container inspection equipment and remote monitoring system to enhance revenue collection (Linked to Record ID#62872)

In early June 2015, the Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Zhao Yanbo, and Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Samura Kamara, signed a grant agreement for the provision of a container inspection equipment and a remote monitoring system. The monetary value of this grant commitment is unknown.

The purpose of this grant was to enhance the customs clearance and revenue collection capabilities of Sierra Leone’s National Revenue Authority (NRA). Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
