Grant Description

China Eximbank loans Equatorial Guinea 290 million USD for various water treatment projects On September 7, 2017, during a visit by a China Eximbank delegation to Equatorial Guinea, it was reported that China will provide a $290 million loan to Equatorial Guinea for various water treatment/drinking water projects.

The purpose of these projects is to develop the industrial agriculture sector, fishing industry, make drinking water more accessible, and grow the economy in Equatorial Guinea.

Additionally, China EXIM bank also plans to provide training to individuals in Equatorial Guinea in order to work and maintain projects financed by the loan. The current status of this project and the loan details are unknown. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
