Chinese Government provides $1.3 million grant for two primary schools in Sembabule and Kanungu districts in Uganda

On September 18, 2007, the Chinese Government agreed to provide a $1,326,084 grant to the Government of Uganda for the emergency construction and rehabilitation of two primary schools.

The grant provided for the study, the geological survey and the design of the project, as well as the provision of construction machinery, equipment and materials. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
