Chinese government donates forestry equipment and materials to the Ministry of Forest Economy and Sustainable Development

On December 2, 2013, Chinese government donated a batch of forestry equipment and materials to the Ministry of Forest Economy and Sustainable Development of Republic of Congo (中国政府向刚果政府赠送一笔林业物资). The Minister of Forestry Economics and Sustainable Development, Henry Jomb, took over as a representative of the Congo.

The materials are mainly composed of forest fire trucks, which will enhance the technical and business capabilities of the “Gang National Greening and Reforestation Program” (material benefit unit).

The material includes 1 command vehicle (used to improve the staff's power), 20 fire patrol vehicles (to ensure that they arrive at the fire site in the first place), 100 GPS and 170 generator sets, which will be mainly allocated to The "Congolese National Greening and Reforestation Program".

The equipments will be used to improve its operational capabilities and enable it to achieve its goal as soon as possible, namely, 1 million hectares of afforestation within 10-years. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
