NDRC provides RMB 20 million grant for provision of energy efficient products

According to Egyptian Presidential Decree no. 445 (2017), on January 16, 2017, the Chinese government signed an amendment to a memorandum of understanding (MoU), previously signed on January 21, 2016, to mark the completion of a grant for CNY 20,000,000 Yuan in energy efficient products to Egypt.

The amended MoU was signed between China's National Development and Reform Commission and Egypt's Ministry of Environment.

The products are mostly energy-efficient, including solar-powered street lights, LED lamps for government buildings, energy-saving AC units and solar panels for private household usage, intended to assist Egypt in combating climate change. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
