Grant Description
On July 30, 2015, the Chinese government handed over the China-Mauritania Ophthalmology Cooperation Center ("中毛眼科合作中心") to the Mauritanian government. The eye care center was financed by the Chinese government and completed as part of "Operation Bright" ("光明行").
A donation ceremony for the Ophthalmology Center included the handover of 760,000 RMB worth of cataract surgical equipment and medical supplies. Additional financing for the construction of the center is unknown. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.
Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
