Grant Description

In 2009, the China’s Ministry of Commerce provided a $6 million grant to the Government of Seychelles for the Judicial Building Construction Project.

This project involved the construction of a new federal judiciary building (that houses the Seychellois Supreme Court and Court of Appeals) — called the Palais de Justice — at Ile du Port in the capital city of Victoria. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
