In May 2015, China and India agree to start annual Sino-India Think Tank Conference. It will be held in each country in turn. The conference is established to enhance communication and increase mutual understanding.
The India-China Think Tank Forum was established by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping during the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to China.
The goal of this conference is to foster closer dialogue and mutual understanding between the two countries and to deliberate on contemporary issues of regional and international significance.
The 2015 conference had two roundtable discussions: one on Indo-Chinese cooperation on global economic governance and another on how India and China could steer global financial markets. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
