Chinese Government provides Rs 94 million grant for sanitation facilities at earthquake-affected school and hospital in Baffa (Linked to Record ID#55836)

In 2006, the Chinese Government agreed to build the Baffa Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ Baffa) and Government Higher Secondary School Baffa (GHSS Baffa) in Baffa within Mansehr District, in the Khyber-Pukhtoonkhwa (KPK). It started construction in 2012.

Then, in 2014, the Chinese government agreed to provide Rs 94 million in additional grant funding to Pakistan’s Earthquake Reconstruction, Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) to upgrade the THQ Baffa and GHSS Baffa buildings with additional facilities and equipment.

These upgrades were to include a Waste Water Treatment Unit, Medical Waste Burning Facility (Hospital), Drainage for the hospital, Provision for Voltage Stabilizer in the hospital and provision for Voltage Stabilizer in the school. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
