China and Sri Lanka fund 5000 Rs.Mn. construction of a maternal and childcare hospital at Colombo North Teaching Hospital Ragama

According to a report by the Sri Lankan Department of Project Management and Monitoring Ministry of Development Assignments, China and Sri Lanka will work together to fund the vonstruction of a maternal and childcare hospital at Colombo North Teaching Hospital Ragama from 2017 to 2019 (it will be located in Ragma).

The project has yet to commence as the project agreement had yet to be signed as of December 31st, 2017.

The expected cost of this project is 5,000,000,000 RsMn, but it was unclear how much of this funding would be supplied by China. Therefore the transaction amount was left blank. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
